Kenneth Ray Mitchell, Sr.

Kenneth Ray Mitchell, Sr., 79 of Madisonville passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at his home.  Born February 27, 1940, to the late John and Cora (Locke) Mitchell in Earlington.  He was a member of the Truth Apostolic Church in Madisonville and was retired from the City of Madisonville Recycling Department.  When he was able he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and time was always well spent with his family.  He was a loving husband to Dorothy for more than 49 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Greer and Lola Wicks; and brothers, Robert Mitchell and TJ Mitchell.

Survived by his wife, Dorothy (Massey) Mitchell; son, Kenneth (Wanda) Mitchell, Jr.; daughter, Deborah (Michael) Allen; grandchildren, Savannah Mitchell, Heather Allen, Lily Mitchell and Michael Allen, III; and great-granddaughter, Ainsley Putman.

Service will be held Sunday at Truth Apostolic Church in Madisonville at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Orten officiating.  Burial to follow at Coles Chapel Cemetery in Christian County.  Visitation will begin at the church at noon.  Pallbearers are Chuck Harryman, Matt Gallimore, Brennen Tolzmann, Michael Allen, Wayne Carlton and Randy Stanley.
