Larry Eugene Gilkey

Larry Eugene Gilkey, 71 of Nortonville passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Baptist Health Hospital.  Born August 11, 1947, to the late Estil and Bula (Clark) Gilkey of Nortonville.  He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal then retired from Highland Coal Company and was a member of UMWA District 23. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Estil Durwood Gilkey.

Survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Darlene (Stanley) Gilkey; son, Paul Ray Gilkey of Nortonville; grandsons, Devin (Kaeli) Gilkey of El Paso, Texas and Trystan Gilkey of Crofton; sister, Patricia (Donald) Rolley of Shererville, Indiana; and sister-in-law, Beckie Gilkey of Nortonville.

Service to be held at Bandy Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Steve Rutherford officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
