Larry Fletcher Stanley, 82 of White Plains passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at his home. Born August 8, 1941, to the late Louis and Eunice (Fletcher) Stanley of Mortons Gap. Larry was a member of Mortons Gap Christian Church, an Army Veteran, and a retired coal miner. He always enjoyed the game of golf and he loved to travel. He was outgoing and enjoyed talking to people. Larry’s family always brought him joy.
Preceded in death by his wife, Norma Sue Stanley; son, Michael Wayne Stanley; sisters, Genevieve Heltsley, Loretta Qualls and Shirley Glaysbrook; and brothers, William Ronnie Stanley, Louis Stanley and James Truman Stanley.
Survived by his wife, Shirley Carroll Stanley; son, Rick (Megan) Stanley of Diersburg, TN; stepchildren, Brian (Amy) Carroll and Niki (Todd) Norman; 5 grandchildren, Keenan, Paislee, Sawyer, Finn and Lennon Stanley; sister, Shannon (Carlis) Oakley; brother, Kenny (Debbie) Stanley; 10 step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 1:00pm at Mortons Gap Christian Church with Bro. D.J. Bryant officiating. Visitation will begin at noon at the church.
