Laurie Ann Bruce, 62 of Nortonville passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess. Born April 29, 1963, to the late Joseph and Beverly (Allison) Tyson of Nortonville. She worked for the Hopkins County Board of Education as bus driver and as a Kindergarten Aide for many years and she was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in White Plains. Laurie had a deep love and history with sports in her community. At the age of 18 she ran the Nortonville Ball Park while playing softball on a team herself. She had a long history of coaching softball for various leagues and assistant coach at South Hopkins High School. Laurie was also involved with the youth basketball programs; Jr. Pro Commissioner in the 80's, board member of the ABA Basketball local program, and coached Lady Badger Basketball at Nortonville School. She was an avid UK Men's Basketball and Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball fan.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Tyson.
Survived by her cherished daughter, Allison Bruce; sister, Tracy Tyson; nieces and nephew, Judd Tyson, Jo Dee Tyson, and Jessie Tyson; great-nephews, Kelby and Ridge Tyson; and her exchange student/friend, Un Kunyaporn.
Service will be held Sunday at 3:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Dwayne Sowell officiating and Bro. Tony Lipford at graveside. Buial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Judd Tyson, Travis Crick, Hayden Crick, Chesley Crick, Konner Harrison, Randy Abbott and Bill Bishop.
