Lillie Mae (Stanley) Groves

Lillie Mae Groves, 79 of Nortonville passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess.  Born June 3, 1947, to the late Carl and Vera (Whitfield) Stanley.  Lillie was a long-standing member of Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church in Nortonville; she loved her church and was a very active member for many years.  She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like growing her flowers, spending time with her girls and making her house into a home for her husband and family.  Her grandchildren always brought a smile to her face and she had a special bond with each of them.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hubert Ray Groves; grandson, Justin Crick; and brother, Joe Kenneth Stanley.

Survived by her 3 daughters, Margie (Johnny) McLemore, Donna (Allen) Cobb, and Lesia (Keith) Ipock all of Nortonville; 4 grandchildren, Brandi Byron, John (Brandy) McLemore, Jeff (Beverly) Crick and Lucas (Amanda) McLemore; and 8 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Brylee and Sterling McLemore, Halle, Zayne and Axl Crick, and Marshall and Hubie McLemore.

Service will be held Wednesday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm at the funeral home.
