Margie Etta Mills, 76 of Madisonville passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess. Born November 26, 1949, to the late Rev. Monroe and Helen Lewis of Evansville, IN. Margie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a devout Christian, she enjoyed sharing her faith with family and friends. Margie loved family gatherings where games were played and stories were told and laughter was shared. Although she was born a Hoosier, the love of her life, Charles, quickly converted her to a Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan and she loved cheering them on. She will be remembered for her vast vinyl record collection and her love of music. While her family’s lives have been forever altered, they are rejoicing in the fact that she is in the hands of her Lord and Savior, and reunited with loved ones that she has missed dearly.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael White; five infant grandchildren; in-laws, Alvis “Crick” & Anna Mae Mills; her first husband, Mickey Owens; first marriage in-laws, William “Blackie” & Lucille Owens; brothers, Melvin and Jimmy Lewis; and sisters, Doris Boyd, Jeannie Deffendoll, Arlene Wilder and Martha Pratt.
Survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles “Buddy” Mills; son, Brian Mills of Madisonville; daughters, Baptista (Chris) Lindsey of Madisonville, Amanda Mills of Hollywood, AL, and Pam White of Rancho Murieta, CA; 12 grandchildren, Kimberly (Wade) Hendrix, Tiffany (Seth) Howton, Tyler (Ashley) Mills, Brandon (Lindsey) Mills, Becca Lindsey, Josiah Lindsey, Wesley Peyton, Cooper White, Caden Lindsey, Jonathan Lindsey, Katie White and Marietta Lindsey; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
