Marlin Ray Grimes, 80 of Madisonville passed away Monday, August 16, 2021, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home. Born August 18, 1940, to the late Burris “Pete” and Ruby (Pruitt) Grimes. He worked at IGA in Dawson Springs and also at Buckhorn. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Alfred Grimes; sister, Geraldine Hankins; and brothers, Darrell Grimes, Waldron Grimes and Wesley Grimes.
Survived by 5 sisters, Nancy Watson of Providence, Carolyn (Frank) Hill of Canyon Lake, Tx, Regina (Raymond) Kelley of Dawson Springs, Kitty (Ray) Crook of Dawson Springs, and Revena (Bobby) Marks of Athens, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Danny Earl officiating. Burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dawson Springs. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Robbie Crafton, Greg Pratt, James Stone, Lester Crook, Dennis Crook and Franklin Hill. Honorary pallbearers are David Crook, Ray Crook and Laura Crafton.
