Marvin Young, 85 of Crofton passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at his home. Born December 7, 1935, to the late Herbert and Nona Young of Apex. He attended Judge's Chapel Church and was self employed as an independent oil driller, logger and a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising a garden. He was proud of his family and enjoyed having them live close by.
Preceded in death by his siblings, Archie, Bernard, Beulah, Henry Wilson, Carlton, Gordon, Claude, Aileen and Curby.
Survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Helen Wells Young; sons, Jimmy (Christy) Young and Johnny (Karen) Young all of Crofton; four grandchildren, Kristin (Bruce) Frazier, Johnathan Trent (Kelbi) Young, Jacob (Shayna) Young and Dillan (Kaitlin) White all of Crofton; 7 great-grandchildren, Abbie (Ashton) Purvis, Noa Young, Owen Young, Paxtyn Young, Avery Young, Saylor Young and Colton White; and many extended family and friends.
Service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Richard Day officiating. Burial to follow at Rock Bridge Cemetery in Apex. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
