Mary Nell (Allen) Johnson

Mary Nell Johnson, 87 of Crofton passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at Madisonville Health and Rehab.  Born September 19, 1937, to the late Eddie and Myrtle (Pennington) Allen of Crofton.  She was a member of New Beginnings Church and attended regularly while her health allowed.  She was a retired employee of Flynn Enterprise in Hopkinsville.  She enjoyed living near her sisters and running errands with them.  "Granny" was a dependable and eagerly available babysitter for her great-grandchildren.  When not busy with those things she could be found in her chair watching the news and reading the Bible.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Robert Bandy; brothers, L.G. Allen and Dallas Allen; and sisters, Stella Grace, Thelma Lyle, Ivly Young, Bertha Hight, June Delawson, Katie Right, Lela Combs, Viona Mollicone and Blanchie Allen.

Survived by her children, Sheila Bandy of Nortonville, Eddie (Denise) Young of White Plains, Ronnie Young of St. Charles and Daniel (Stormy) Young of St. Charles; 8 grandchildren, Ryan Bandy, Amy Stephens, Andrea Hulsey, Tiffiany Heggen, Grant Young, Trevor Young, Colter Young and Tavia Burns; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Loretta Lee and Elva Mae Young.

Service will be held Friday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Gary Gossett officiating.  Burial to follow at Cold Creek Cemetery in Apex.  Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home.
