Mary Jo Phillips, 84 of Hopkinsville passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at Bradford Heights Nursing Home in Hopkinsville. Born January 20, 1940, to the late Jessie and Nell (Rudolph) Brown. She was a graduate of South Hopkins High School and was a member of New Barren Springs Baptist Church. She retired from Flynns Sewing Factory in Hopkinsville. She enjoyed working in her yard and being outdoors and traveling. She was a great cook and loved being “Ginky” to her family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Jerald Hardison; and brother, Larry Brown.
Survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Billy Phillips; 8 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she has raised; brother, Steve Brown of Central City; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville. Burial to follow at Union Temple Cemetery in St. Charles. Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerald Hardison, Norman Brown, Dwight Brown, Scott Brown, Anthony Gibbs and Zack Thomas.
