Melody Oglesby, 63 of White Plains passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess. Born January 17, 1962, to the late Miller Dee Oglesby and the late Mary Evelyn (Fugate) Oglesby of White Plains. She was a member of the 1980 graduating class of South Hopkins High School and was a member of Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. While in high school she began working at Blakely’s Grocery and worked there for many years. Melody did move her employment to the Ideal in White Plains where she was the manager for over 10 years before retiring. She enjoyed watching Pro Wrestling and was a fan of Aaron Tippin; she liked to travel occasionally and enjoyed going out to eat. Most of the time she spent her time reading a book or watching a selection of preachers on television. Melody loved her family and appreciated the time that she had with them.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Larry Oglesby, Jack Oglesby and infant brother, Bobby Oglesby.
Survived by her 2 sisters, Pamela Oglesby of White Plains and Glenda (Donald) Brown of Nortonville; 4 nieces; 5 nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, November 5, at noon at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains.
