Mike Murrah Obituary

Michael Wayne Murrah, 59 of Nortonville joined the choir of angels on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Baptist Health Hospital.  Born February 3, 1961, to the late Jesse and Corinne (Carlton) Murrah.  He was a beloved teacher at Hopkins County Central High School and was a very active and important member of The River.  He is a man that was loved by many.  A special man that not only loved Jesus, but he loved everyone he met. He was a true brother of Christ, the best husband that anyone could have, loving father to his children, a father to the fatherless, loving brother, and uncle to many.  Mike's had a heart of compassion just as Jesus's is. He never met a stranger and was kin to almost everyone, somehow. If you knew him, you would know Jesus. He was sold out to the Lord with all of his heart and soul. He is leaving a legacy behind that most could only hope for.  He will be missed by the multitudes. He is a man that we all are forever grateful for.  He will continue to live in our hearts everyday forward, while he spends his time in full joy dancing and praising our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Mike got his song back and remember "God has got this."

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Billy Cline.

Survived by his wife of 25 years, Sabrina Buffy Murrah; children, Isaiah Murrah, Joel Murrah and Jessica Lear; 4 grandchildren, McKenzie, Alexis, Lilly and Christina Lear; sister, Lou Ann Cline; in-laws, Kenny and Jo Smith; and nieces, Ashley Hartford, Victoria Cline, Emma and Josie Vandiver.

Family will have a private service with Pastor Howard Jones officiating.  Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be planned after current social distancing is lifted.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society to honor Mike.

Video of the service will be added here after the service.
