Mildred Faye (Carlton) Stanley

Mildred Carlton Stanley, 84 of Nortonville passed away on March 27, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.  Born August 10, 1941, to the late Charlie and Pearlie (Pyles) Carlton.  Mildred was a lifetime member of The River church family and served as the church treasurer for over 40 years.  She retired from 5/3 Bank after more than 20 years of service.  She enjoyed working puzzles and being on her iPad to pass time.  Mildred loved spending time with her family and attending church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kenneth Stanley; daughter, Cindy Browning; son-in-law, Johnny Dunlap; brothers, Wallace and Donnie Carlton; and sisters, Eudina McIntosh, Virginia Sisk and Betty Fugate.

Survived by 2 sons, Kenneth (Stacie) Stanley and Gary (Lois) Stanley; daughter, Kiwania Dunlap; son-in-law, Kenneth Browning; grandchildren, Tara (Brad) Hight, Jason (Heather) Dunlap, Tristan (Ashley) Stanley, Selina Browning, Nathan (Rayna) Browning, Travis (Devon) Dunlap, Tosha (Brandon) Smith, Ashlee (Brad) Lee and Jacob Stanley; sister, Norma Cavanaugh; sister-in-law, Lillie Groves; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and expecting 2 more; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Service will be held Tuesday at 1:00pm at The River in Nortonville with Pastor Howard Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00pm - 7:00pm and Tuesday from 11:00am - 1:00pm at The River.
