Naomi Oglesby, 95 of White Plains passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Madisonville Health and Rehab. Born October 19, 1925, to the late Oliver and Blonnie (Cunningham) Rodgers. She was a lifetime member of White Plains Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active with Vacation Bible School, she also worked at White Plains school as a cook and then as a teacher's aid for 15 years. She loved working with and teaching the kids in the community. Naomi enjoyed time in her kitchen cooking for her family and grandchildren, but if there was a UK Basketball game on they would have to fix their own.
Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William "Bill" Oglesby; grandson, William Ray Harris; brother, Vernon Rodgers; and sisters, Hazel Parker and Agnes Madden.
Survived by her daughters, Judith (Danny) Harris of Hanson and Denise (Eddie) Young of White Plains; 2 grandchildren, Andrea Hulsey and Jeremy (Cecily) Harris; 4 great-grandchildren, Emily Hulsey, Olivia Hulsey, Hadassah Harris and expecting soon, Josiah Harris; brother, Cleatis (Geneva) Rodgers of Dixon; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Jimmy Watkins officiating. Burial to follow at Olive Branch Church Cemetery in Hanson. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm and after 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home.
