Norris Edward Kirkwood, 82 of Versailles died Monday, July 20, 2020, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Ashbyburg, Ky, Norris was the oldest son of the late Horace and Ada Kirkwood and resided most of his years in White Plains Kentucky before relocating to Versailles, Ky, in 2001. Norris is a graduate of South Hopkins High School and a lifelong member of the United Mine Workers Association, District 12. He was also a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Kirkwood and Bernice Kirkwood.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy Langley Kirkwood; children Allen (Ashley) Kirkwood of Lexington and Carol Kirkwood Gamble of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Lindsay Kirkwood and Morgan Gamble; and his brother, Gary Kirkwood of White Plains.
A private service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. (CST) at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains, KY. Family is requesting that due to the current Covid-19 conditions, the service will be limited to immediate family only.
