Paul Edward Barton, 78 of St. Charles passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess. Born December 19, 1947, to the late Charles and Bessie (Sutton) Barton. He served in the United States Army for approximately 14 years, was a Vietnam Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Paul had a heart for God, he enjoyed studying and learning the Bible. He attended The River and he became an ordained Reverend. He was a man of many interests and talents; he played the banjo and he was a mechanic that often tinkered on cars. Paul also liked to pass time playing Red Redemption video games. He loved and was very proud of his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Paul Barton; sister, Delores Dean; and infant brother, Samuel Barton.
Survived by his wife of 30 years, Tammy (Amburgey) Barton; son, Charles Barton of Hopkinsville; 3 daughters, Sherry Barton of Owensboro, Rhoda Davidson of Clifty and Clarissa Barton of St. Charles; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Willis, Leighangel Cotton, Harley Davidson, James Davidson, Gregory Davidson and Seth Barton; 4 great-grandchildren, Sawyer Willis, K.C. Willis, Jazylin Barton and Archer Willis; and nephew, Chris Haddock.
Memorial service will be held Monday, May 11, at 2:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with military rites performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Placement at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West in Hopkinsville will take place privately for immediate family at a later date.
