Roy Sherman Ferrell, 86 of Grapevine passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his home. Born April 1, 1937, to the late Fred and Deloris (Mitchell) Ferrell of Grapevine. He was a member of First Church of God in Madisonville. He was a mechanic, he knew everything to know about small engines. He worked as a coal miner for several years and then spent many years at True Value. He had a talent for wood working and he enjoyed cooking. Roy loved his family and was proud of his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois "Jo" (Butler) Ferrell; 2 brothers, Raymond Ferrell and Breman Ferrell; and sister, Mary Groves.
Survived by his daughter, Kelly (Paul) French of Madisonville; grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Cummings of Clarksville, TN, Kassidy Day of Hopkins County, and Logan Dukes of Madisonville; 6 great-grandchildren, Aaden, Noah, Lucas and Zion Cummings, Hadleigh and Finleigh Franklin; brother, Fred Ferrell, Jr. of Madisonville; and sister, Betty (Dan) Clayton of Madisonville.
Service will be held Wednesday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Robert White officiating. Burial to follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00pm - 7:00pm and Wednesday from 11:00am til service time at the funeral home.
