Ruth Poole Obituary

Ruth Ann Browning Poole, 54 of Nortonville, beloved wife of Robert Poole, passed unexpectedly from this earth at Baptist Health Deaconess of Madisonville, into the Heavenly Arms of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Ruth Ann was born November 3, 1969, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to the late James and Helen (Phelps) Browning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sheila.  She attended South Hopkins High School, where she received many scholastic awards in math and science.

Ruth Ann married the love of her life, Robert Poole, on June 19, 1987. Anyone who reads the Facebook post of a few weeks ago, on their 37th wedding anniversary, can see how much love there was between Robert and Ruth Ann. Their marriage produced two lovely daughters: Erica (Matt) Brackett and Savana (Trevor) Adams.

Ruth Ann worked with her husband, Robert, at Auto Electric Repair. When Robert decided they should get into the rental business, Ruth Ann fell right into her natural role of interior decorating and design. She also was the bookkeeper and rental officer for Poole Rentals. This definitely was a team effort that included them both.

Erica recalls how, when she and Savana were in school, Ruth Ann would make them do homework as soon as they got home from school.  “Mom was right in there with us, working on schoolwork until it was finished.” As Erica grew and matured, she and her mother became best friends; “Mom was always there for me, whether I was sick or just needed someone to talk to.”

Savana was most appreciative of how her mom supported her dream of singing at the Grand Ole Opry. It’s a blessing that Ruth Ann, Robert, Savana and the family got to spend several days together in Nashville, where Savana got to perform at the Grand Ole Opry for the Inspirational Country Music Association.  From an early age Ruth Ann encouraged Savana to sing in public every time she had an opportunity.

Robert has many memories of how Ruth Ann loved her home and how she loved to decorate for every holiday, especially autumn and Christmas.  Christmas lights had to go up the day after Thanksgiving. She had such beautiful decorations, the house looked like a home in Southern Living magazine.  Robert says there were never enough balloons for a birthday celebration. Ruth Ann also was an amateur photographer and loved taking pictures of her kids as they grew up and her grandchildren: Londyn, Elaina and Easton, as they grew and discovered the world. She was a very talented and special lady. She was kind to everyone she knew.

Ruth Ann leaves behind, broken-hearted, her husband, Robert Poole; two daughters, Erica (Matt) Brackett and Savana (Trevor) Adams; three grandchildren, Londyn Brackett, Elaina Adams, Easton Adams; a sister, Sharon Reynolds; three brothers, James Ted (Debbie) Browning, Kenneth (Melba) Browning and Barry (Peggy) Browning; as well as many nephews and nieces.

Service will be held Thursday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Joey Todd officiating.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00pm – 7:00pm and Thursday from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be James Ted Browning, Kenneth Browning, Barry Browning, Glen Slate, Matt Crick and Ricky Korzenborn.  Honorary pallbearers are Matt Brackett and Trevor Adams.
