Shawn Christopher Whitehair

Shawn Christopher Whitehair, 49 of Nortonville passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess.  Born December 2, 1974, to the late Herbert and Jane (Barnes) Whitehair of Nortonville.  He was a graduate of South Hopkins High School class of 1992.  Shawn was friendly and outgoing and he usually had a big smile for his friends and family.  His son brought him much pride and joy in life.  A big kid at heart himself, he could often be seen outside playing with his son.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle, Stanley Barnes.

Survived by his wife, Nia Young of Nortonville; sons, Xavier Whitehair, Christian Gossett and Joshua Gossett; brothers, Kevin Barnes of Nortonville and Troy (Lita) Whitehair of Nortonville; nephew, Christian Barnes; nieces, Eryn Barnes and Avery Whitehair; and aunt, Ethel Harvey of Nortonville.  

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at noon at New Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Nortonville with Bro. Brad Payne officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00am at the church.
