Shirley Ann Chamness, 85 of Nortonville passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at Baptist Health Hospital. Born February 4, 1936, to the late Hosea and Ruth (Heflen) Robinson, Jr. in Illinois. She was of Christian faith and worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life. When she wasn't working or taking care of her beloved family she enjoyed crafts such as crocheting and tole painting. Her family also appreciated her talent as a cook and baker.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Flaud Chamness, Jr.; daughter, Catherine Gunther; and brother, Tommy Robinson.
Survived by her children, Barbara (Donald) Laffoon of Madisonville, Brenda Law of Madisonville and Jerry Robertson of Nortonville; 13 grandchildren, Brad Skeen, Scott Chamness, Rachel Williams, Daniel Gunther, Jeremy Gunther, Casey Gunther, Candace Hack, Evan Law, Krista Barnett, Laura Robertson, Alex Laffoon, Nathan Robertson and Andrew Robertson; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Robert) Childs of Madisonville; and 6 stepchildren, Roger Chamness, Greg (Mary Ann) Chamness, Jeff (Trina) Chamness and Patty Allen all of Florida, Mike Chamness of Evansville, and Barbara (Jerry) Teeple of Poland.
Service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until service time.
