Shirley Sue (Vandiver) Ramsey

Shirley Sue Vandiver Ramsey, 79 of Nortonville passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing.  Born April 20, 1946, to the late Donald and Fannie (Clark) Vandiver of Nortonville.  Shirley was a longstanding member of Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church in Nortonville.  She enjoyed getting to know people and would often cook or do little things for the people that she was thinking of to show them that she cared.  Her family was important to her and she found joy in staying active in their lives.  Her children and grandchildren would bring a smile to her face when she spoke of any of them.  

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Carty; second husband, Bill Ramsey; brothers, Charles Vandiver and Wesley Vandiver; and sisters, Irma Patton and June Cartwright.

Survived by her sons, Jeff (Teresa) Whitaker of Gilbertsville and Ryan (Kathy) Whitaker of Graham; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be held Wednesday at 1:00pm at Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church in Nortonville with Bro. Daniel Vandiver and Bro. John Culbertson officiating.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00pm - 7:00pm and Wednesday from 11:00am - 1:00pm at the church.
