Slyeston Davis Scarbrough, 73 of Mortons Gap passed away Monday, July 20, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. Born February 14, 1947, and raised by the late John and Josephine (Wilkerson) Harralson. He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Mortons Gap. He worked for many years at Peabody Coal as a coalminer. He was proud of his family and enjoyed staying involved and active in their lives.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharon Scott and Pearl Scarbrough; and great-granddaughter, Aspen Scarbrough.
Survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Connie Cotton Scarbrough; children, Misty (Phillip) Nichols, Loman (Carol) Scarbrough and Derrick (Mindy) Scarbrough; 8 grandchildren, Kaylee, Autumn, Dustin, Peyton, Ethan, Kira, Austin and Logan; 3 great-grandchildren, Addi, Emilee and Maverick; siblings, Ruth Ann Fox, Susan Cavanaugh, Joey Harralson, Shirley Adams, John Heckler, Ann Vandewater and Becky Gibbons; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Len Young and Bro. George Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tyler White, Landon Harralson, Dustin, Austin, Ethan and Logan Scarbrough. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Stearsman, Maverick Scarbrough, Joey, Johnathan and Josh Harralson, John and Andy Heckler.
Attendees are mandated to wear a mask. Anyone that has or have had a fever or signs/symptoms in the past 14 days please do not attend. Social distancing is required while in attendance.
