Steve Allen Morgan, 74 of Mortons Gap passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at Heartford House Hospice in Owensboro. Born December 5, 1951, to the late Ernest Paul and Martha Josephine (Johnson) Morgan. Steve was a dedicated police officer for Dawson Springs before serving as a Hopkins County Deputy Sheriff. He also drove a truck for PTL Trucking Co. in Nortonville and for Ruby Concrete in Madisonville, before ending his work career with the Sanitation Department for the City of Madisonville. He enjoyed spending a lot of time outdoors in the form of fishing, hunting, hiking or just observing nature. Steve enjoyed horseback riding and he was a true animal lover. When he wasn't busy with all of those interests, he likely had his nose in a book.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Morgan; and sister, Josephine Harp.
Survived by his 3 children, Misty (Jason) Whicker, Mandi Morgan and Cameron (Leah Smiley) Morgan all of Madisonville; grandchild, Ryan Moore of Chicago; and sister, Juanita Payne.
His family appreciated the care that Steve received from Park Grove Nursing Home and especially appreciated Beverly Justice for befriending him.
Service will be held Friday at 3:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Stan Howard and Bro. Brad Payne officiating. Burial to follow at McIntosh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at the funeral home.
