Susan Lorraine Murray, 80 of Nortonville passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. Born January 31, 1943, to the late James William Banks and the late Beaulah (Mills) Banks Wilson. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Earlington. She retired from Medical College of Georgia where she was the medical transcriptionist supervisor for many years. Susan enjoyed spending time with her companion, Myles, traveling country roads and going out for lunch. She loved hearing from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Murray.
Survived by her children, Tony (Heidi) Galvin, Jan (Ron) Bane, Joe (Sheri) Galvin and Steve (Joy) Galvin, all of Georgia; 8 grandchildren, Corey (Jordan) Galvin of NC, James (Brittany) Galvin, Corbin Galvin, Jessica Galvin, Lynzee (Julian) Rodriguez, Hannah (RJ) Messier, Connor (Jessica) Bane and Sara Galvin, all of Georgia; 6 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Laney, Elias, Ava, Nixon, Camden and Elijah; companion of 15 years, Myles Montgomery; and siblings, Ralph (Kay) Banks of Henderson, Gayle (Harold) Overby of Sebree, Clara Rickard of Mortons Gap, Patty Holaday of Sebree and Betty Majors of Uniontown.
Service will be held Saturday at 12:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Father David Kennedy officiating. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 11:00am until service time. Burial will take place at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville on Tuesday.
