Wanda Jean (Whitfield) Allen

Wanda Jean Allen, 69 of Nortonville passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess.  Born May 27, 1954, to the late Lewis and Violet (Heltsley) Whitfield.  Wanda graduated from South Hopkins High School in 1972.  She was an active member of Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church and served as the church custodian for many years.  Always ready to share a laugh and spend time with her family.  She was proud to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Hicklin; and brother, Donnie Whitfield.

Survived by her husband of 50 years, Dwight Allen; daughter, Shannon (Mark) Stone of Nortonville; son, Travis (Ashley) Allen of White Plains; 4 grandchildren, Lydia Stone, Sawyer Allen, Amelia Allen and Isaiah Allen; sisters, Hilda Fox and Martha Basham; brother, Darel (Vada) Whitfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be held Monday at 2:00pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Nortonville with Bro. Daniel Vandiver officiating.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the church.  Pallbearers will be Sawyer Allen, Scott Goodaker, Michael Fox, Matthew Allen, Nathan Allen and Larry Haynes.
