William “Tooter” Edward Grace, 88 of Nortonville passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home. Born September 19, 1935, to the late William Jewell and Ada Fay (Knight) Grace of Nortonville. He attended Good Hope Church, was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA. When working he spent time at River Queen, Peabody and Homestead mines. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Edith Lester and Juanita Cavanaugh; brother, Jimmy Grace; half-brother, Junior Allen; daughter-in-law, Terri Grace; grandson, David Shinn; and granddaughter, Brittany Grace.
Survived by his wife of 67 years, Annie Katherine (Martin) Grace; 2 sons, Barry Grace of Nortonville and Lynn (Linda) Grace of Pelham, NC; 2 brothers, Gene (Brenda) Grace of Nortonville and Johnny (April) Grace of Madisonville; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jassen) Bruegman of Ravenna, OH, Cayce (John) Funke of Evansville, IN, Matthew (Adrianna) Grace of Danville, VA, and Jarret Grace of Pelham, NC; 3 great-grandchildren, Lillian, Henri and Ellianna Grace of Danville, NC; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Sunday at 2:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Brad Payne officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon until service time at the funeral home.
