Leona (Bowman) Faith

Leona Bowman Faith, 91 of Nortonville went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 28, 2016, at NHC Healthcare.  She was born April 19, 1925, to the late John and Viney (Vincent) Bowman.  Leona was a member of New Salem Baptist Church for 47 years and she retired from the Hopkins County Board of Education.  She said liked to stay busy reading, crocheting or working puzzles.

Also preceded in death by her husband, John Faith; two sons, Freddie and Tony Faith; two grandsons, Freddie Joe and Tracey Faith; four sisters, Katie Teague, Beatrice Bowman, Lenora Collins, and Gertrude Aderholdt; and three brothers, Otis, Harold and Bubby Bowman.

Survived by her two daughters, Kathy (John) Phillips and Sandy (Roger) Hunter, all of Nortonville; eight grandchildren, Kasey, Joshua, Daniel, Heather, Jill, Scott, Greg, and T.J.; fifteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be Sunday, June 5, at 2:00p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Rutherford officiating.  Burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville and Sunday after 12:30p.m. at the church.
