Monetta Jean (Rodgers) Hicks

Monetta Jean Hicks, 83 years of Nortonville passed away on April 6, 2017, at Heartford House in Owensboro.  Born on August 27, 1933, to the late Leburn and Opal (Addison) Rodgers.  She was a member of Mannington Baptist Church.  Jean loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and she was an avid UK Basketball fan.

Preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hicks; and granddaughter, Tracey Brasher Adamson.

Survived by two sons, Jerry (Lola) Hicks, Sr., and Billy White all of Nortonville; two daughters, Freda DeMilt of Nortonville, and Sandy (Bob) Taliaferro of Madisonville; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Butler of Nortonville; brother, Jackie (Kim) Rodgers of Nortonville; several nieces; and beloved dog, Sophie.

Service will be Sunday at 2:00PM at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Keith Harris officiating.  Burial to follow at Hamby Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will be Saturday 5:00PM to 8:00PM and after 12:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers are Pete Dexter, Austin Staser, Jerry Hicks, Jr., Brian Taliaferro, Jerold and Zack Adams.  Honorary pallbearers are Dalton Adams and Will Hicks.
