Lewis "Yogi" Clay Vandiver, Jr., 54 of Madisonville passed away August 5, 2016, at Baptist Health Hospital. Born October 22, 1961, to the late Lewis Vandiver and Norma (Holmes) Vandiver. Lewis was a coal miner at Deer Creek mines prior to becoming disabled and he was a member at The River. He enjoyed fishing and was a UK basketball fan, but Papaw loved his grandchildren dearly and spending time with his family.
Survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon Brasher Vandiver; three daughters, Jennifer Vandiver of Nortonville, Katrina (William) Drake of Madisonville, and Jaymi Vandiver of Madisonville; 6 grandchildren; mother, Norma Vandiver; sister, Debbie Vandiver; his three brothers, Victor (LaDonna) Vandiver of Madisonville, Murray Vandiver of Madisonville, and Rev. Daniel (Candice) Vandiver of Nortonville; his in-laws, Wayne and Dorothy Knight of Hopkinsville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Service will be at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville on Monday, August 8, at 1:00PM with Bro. Howard Jones officiating. Burial to follow in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM. Pallbearers are Victor, Murray, Daniel, and Tommy Vandiver, William Drake, and Jose Perez. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Vandiver and Matthew Proffitt.
